4 MONTHS....

OK, so its been four months since there's been any news, but it doesn't mean that I've stopped. Its just because I've started a new job, so been super busy, and as such, in-My-name had to be put on hold for awhile....

But I'm back and running around as chaotic as ever!!

Currently working on SS12, its at the very beginning stages. But this time, I'll hopefully......well, don't want to give any spoilers away!

For SS12 I've used war time child evacuee's and vintage luggage as inspiration. I was captured by the nostalgia and the concept of the fun and excitement some of the kids had during the war.

ONE week on

So its been one week on since the official launch of in-My-name, and the feedback I've had has been really mixed.

When I say mixed, I mean that I've had alot less interest then I though I would of. I never expected to be featured in GQ or anything like that, but I expect more from my friends really.

I texted and Facebook them about my label, and don't get me wrong, the close friends got back to me pretty soon and said they likes it.But there's still one or two who still haven't even bothered to say "on, yeah its nice" or "well done". Now don't get me wrong, I'm not after their approval, but what I would like is your support, your interests or just a sign that you care.....but oh well....on a brighter note

I've had some really good response from people I didn't even know, even help.

First of I met someone I new from college only a day before in-My-name went online. After seeing the site, she offered to help me adjust the photos to make them look sharper.  So a big THANK YOU to Louise x

Secondly I met someone on the train who asked me if I was setting up a label ( I was reading a book about it)
Anyway, we've been talking back and forth through e-mail. It seems that she has the same dream I do, and I'm sure she'll do well. So a big HELLO to Noel x

Finally, I met an account (THANK YOU GOD(s)). Is a friend of a friend but he said he'll help and answer anything questions I my have. So a big E-MAIL to Chris is soon to be arriving in your inbox.

Anyway, good news too, I've finished the designs for SS12- expect a nostalgic mix of polka dots and bright colors.

Hello world

Keep this date in your calender 14 - 4 - 11 for the rest of your life, as I can finally say ( due to a Ms Adamou) that in-My-name is finally launched!

 I will be having a small drink with said Ms Adamou tonight to celebrate ( I don't have money to do anything proper)

Well its taken along time and alot of energy to finally get where in-My-name is now, and I've had alot of help along the way (and hope I still will!)

So I would like to say a couple of well deserved THANK YOU'S!


Zita  - for being my secret mentor and letting me do my work while I worked with you. Also for introducing me to Shelly

Shelley  - for being an excellent pattern cutter and helping with the technical stuff

The Buyer that turned me downed - ok, here's something you should know. One of the biggest factors of me starting in-My-name was because of an interview I had. It was with a the head menswear buyer of a company I was working for and it went terrible. The worst interview ever. So much so, that they pretty much said that I wasn't suitable for fashion...... And so I say THANK YOU to them. Because you made me realise that I'm not your typical fashion person, I never have been, but I LOVE fashion. It goes beyond love, its all I know and I think and breath and dream and shit about. I WILL NEVER LET ANYONE STOP ME!




My biggest thank you  goes to LATOYAH  of Lapremp.

I have so much love for this girl and honestly, I don't know how the hell I would of couped without her. You have inspired, cheered me on, encouraged and helped every step of the way. From the very first step you have been there, and may you always be there. May we have more photoshoots to come! From the deepest depths of my heart, THANK YOU.

Nearly there!

So close and yet so far! but I'm really happy to say that in-My-name will soon be online!

I know I haven't been on for a long time, but it doesn't mean that I wasn't doing anything. In fact I spent every waking thinking about IMN!

So, what have I been doing then...well, apart from working on the website, facebook page, twitter account and of course, the new look to this blog, I finally had the photoshoot! I've been planning since NOVEMBER, yes N-O-V-E-M-B-E-R!!!

But its finally happened.

I did the photography myself (yes, I plan on taking on the world by myself), the model was the gorgeous Dan  and it was all styled by the super stylist Latoyah of LaPremp.

So the big day:

At 7;41am, I get a text from Latoyah reading:

"Sever case of food poisoning, I feel awful. I can prob do about 2hrs max as I've not slept from being sick all night. I'm hoping it will improve over the morning but just a warning!!"

MY HEART ACTUALLY STOPPED.

But after some tennis texting, I was reassured of her attendance!

So the shoot started at 10:00am and it kind of was a bit surreal. The theme for the poses came by accident ( Dan nearly falling backwards) and then it just flowed from one outfit into another.

 

I would just like to say, that both Dan and Latoyah were BRILLIANT on the shoot, and I would just like to say a very big THANK YOU

So whats next.....EVERYTHING! This is just the start, and I'll be updating alot more from now on! I'm  already planing for SS12 which will be the first full collection. Fingers crossed X
